Fans on Merseyside will be linking up with faith groups this weekend as supporters continue to aid foodbank collections.
The Fans Supporting Foodbanks initiative, established by Everton Supporters Trust and Spirit of Shankly, will be asking supporters to make matchday donations once more at this weekend’s fixtures.
They will be supported by volunteers from the Jewish community as part of Mitzvah Day – providing opportunities for members of the Jewish community to get involved in the foodbank work going on around football.
Spirit of Shanky’s Ian Byrne said: “We haven't had much contact with the Jewish community so we are delighted with this development.”
The Fans Supporter Foodbanks group has previously worked with local Mosques.
Elsewhere, supporter-led foodbank collections will also be taking place in Huddersfield thanks to a partnership between the Huddersfield Town Supporters Association, Cowshed Loyal and The Welcome Centre.
