The FSF Fans’ Parliament is over for another year, and we’re pleased to say it was a great success with hundreds of football supporters turning up to see Rt Hon Richard Caborn MP speak on his experiences as Sports Minister and the 2018 World Cup bid. This was followed by a very encouraging speech from Lord Triesman, Chairman of the FA.
A number of new policy motions were also voted through by FSF members and affiliates as well as award and National Council announcements, more of that to follow.
We were also delighted to see the following day's Football Fans’ Congress, which the FSF provided support to, going brilliantly with more than 200 supporters from 25 different countries coming together. The Congress saw fans debate issues such as fan culture, policing and repression, diversity/anti-discrimination, ticketing, and club ownership.
A Steering Committee was also set up with representatives from nine different countries, who will be arranging the next Congress and draw up plans for a constitution which will form the basis for decision making at the next conference.
